Dr. Laura McKay

Dr. Laura McKay, B.Sc, DVM, MSc, Ph.D.is originally from Montreal, Quebec and has lived all over Canada before moving to Calgary 10 years ago. She completed her BSc in Psychology at the University of Calgary, went on to an MSc in Neuroscience at McGill University and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the University of Lethbridge. After 6 years of working as a researcher at the University of Calgary, Laura decided it was time to go back to school and follow her childhood dream to become a veterinarian. She has been working at Fish Creek as a student since 2015 and joined the team as a vet in 2018. She has a special interest in emergency medicine and is excited to be working at a busy 24hr clinic.

In her spare time, Laura enjoys spending time with her husband and their young son and daughter. She also rides horses competitively (show jumping) and loves getting out to the mountains to go hiking, camping and skiing. She has two cats (Zoe and Newton) and two horses (Koko and Ganesh).
