Sami Kennedy, Reception Manager was born and raised in Yellowknife, NWT. Following high school, Sami moved to Ireland on an exchange program and spent her spare time traveling around Europe. She then took up residence in Nanaimo, BC, where she attended Vancouver Island University for two years, pursuing a career in Marine Biology.
Following this, Sami decided on a career path change to the veterinary industry. She moved to Calgary and completed her Veterinary Office Assistant Certificate with Robertson College. While working in the veterinary industry, Sami received her Bachelor of Science at Mount Royal University. She also volunteered at a sea turtle conservation in Costa Rica, which involved patrolling the beaches, investigating nests, and performing health assessments while the turtles were laying eggs.
In 2014, Sami joined Fish Creek 24 Hr Pet Hospital as a receptionist. She quickly moved into a supervisor role, which led to her current role as Reception Manager, which allows her to work closely with clients, patients, and her team of receptionists. Sami spends her spare time snowboarding in the Banff area, travelling to Tofino to surf, and scuba diving in tropical locations. She also enjoys playing both indoor and beach volleyball. When she is home, she loves to hang out with her Boston Terrier, Tank and her Shorkie, Maui.
